The Norfolk State University athletics department announced Monday that 101 of its student-athletes earned Athletics Director's Honor Roll recognition for the spring 2014 semester.

A school-record 89 Norfolk State University student-athletes have been named members of the 2013-14 MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team.

Norfolk State University Athletics Director Marty L. Miller released the following statement Wednesday in response to the NCAA's yearly release of the Academic Progress Rate (APR) data:

The Norfolk State men's and women's track and field programs had 19 athletes represented on the 2013-14 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Teams, released Wednesday by the conference office.

Six women and one man competed for NSU at the Penn Relays over the weekend in Philadelphia.

Senior softball player Morgan Boyd (Chesapeake, Va.) and junior football player Lynden Trail (Miami, Fla.) were named Norfolk State University Female and Male Athletes of the Year, respectively, at the school's athletic awards ceremony on Monday night.
