Coppin State sophomore Rosen Daniel advanced to the semifinals in the 400-meter dash during the opening day of the NCAA Division I East Region Preliminary Championships at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida Thursday night.

North Carolina Central University senior hurdler Anthonia Ballard will close out her college athletic career in style, doing so as a qualifier for the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Championships.
